Our blended learning approach

Our trainings are based on the blended learning approach. Blended Learning designates the range of possibilities presented by combining Internet and digital media with established classroom forms that require the physical co‐presence of teacher and students.

When you have accepted your placement offer, you will receive your login data from us for the TUI Online Campus. Here you will find each module of your training journey in the order they are to be completed. You will need to finish each module in turn to be able to move onto the next one.

Entertainment Delivery Team Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
• Manage delivery of entertainment programs, providing feedback and consultancy through regular monitoring of performance
• Managing all of the in-resort entertainment operations for both TUI and third party (TUI BLUE and GOLD)
• Coordinating between local HR Services/TUI MM Placements team and in resort teams for any staff changes within your units. Providing relevant cover where needed  
• Completing all necessary reports and administrative tasks and ensuring that start and end of season inventory checks are completed on all entertainment support materials, as well as implementing a control system to keep materials in good condition.

Everything you need to know

General

When will I get my invitation to the TUI Hotel Brands training?

After your successful recruitment interview you will get a proposal for your summer placement. Once you have accepted the placement we will send you an e-mail with the invitation to your first step in your training journey. Invitations will start to be sent out by job role towards the end of January 2022.

Where can I find all details about the training journey for my new role?

All information about the blended learning approach and specific training steps for each role can be found on our training webpage. The exact dates for virtual classroom training and face to face training can be found above.

Please be aware, due to the current situation, the Face to Face training dates will be confirmed in the later stage with an individual invitation mail.

If I can't join virtual or face to face training – is there any other option?

Basically taking part in training is obligatory. If you cannot attend the training please state the reason for not attending in the registration form and send an email with a certificate from the doctor or school to: hotel.training@tui.com. Some of the job roles need to be licensed, and the qualification is a precondition to working in that role, therefore attendance at training is a requirement. If there is an unforeseeable circumstance and you cannot attend, please contact us so we can find a solution for you.

How do I move between the e-learning modules on the TUI Online Campus?
    Each new module and link of your e-learning will open a new window. When you have completed each module or link please close the window and return to the previous window to continue to the next part of your e-learning.
    To check when/if you have completed each step of a module you can click on the menu button in the top left corner of the page and navigate through the module.
Will I be paid for the training?

E learning:
The completion of the e-learning sessions are your own investment into your knowledge and understanding for your new job and can be completed at the most convenient time for you, without any impact on your current job or school commitments.

The virtual classroom training will be compensated to you with free time in the destinations or with days off, depending on the duration of your training (full or half day).

Childcare self-guided modules
The Childcare self-guided modules will be compensated with one extra day salary with your first salary after you start the season.

Face to face TUI BLUE & Concept DNA Training
If you are not contracted during the face to face training, you will get the participation paid with your first salary after you start the season.

IFAA B Licenses Training
The Fitness & Leisure Instructors get a unique opportunity to gain international recognized fitness licenses. As TUI covers all of the costs for these qualifications, there will be no remuneration for the duration of the training. (DNA Training will be paid).

What first aid qualification do I need?

Full Paediatric First Aid

I don’t have a first aid certificate, do I need to pay for this myself?

You will be advised regarding first aid and what actions you need to take if any. Please do not book any first aid course unless advised to otherwise you will not get reimbursed for it

My first aid is expiring what should I do?

You will be contacted about your first aid and advised what actions you need to take if any.

I already have a qualification, do I need to do the TUI Qualification as well?

No, you do not need to do the qualification if you already hold a childcare qualification that meets the TUI requirements. You can contact (Recruitment email) to confirm.

How can I sign up for the TUI Childcare Qualification?

If you do not currently hold a childcare qualification this is a great opportunity for you to become qualified in childcare. There are many benefits from completing this.

Where can I find my tasks for the TUI Childcare Qualification?

You will be able to find your tasks at the bottom of the E-Learning modules. There are 7 E-Learning modules where you will be asked to download the tasks to support your qualification. Once you have completed them you should send this to tuichildcarequalification@tui.com

If I’m not doing the TUI Childcare Qualification do I still need to do the additional tasks on the E-Learning?

No, you only need to do the tasks if you are completing the qualification.

What if my visa/work permit embassy appointment clashes with my Face to Face training date?

You will need your passport (UK) or ID card (non-UK) to travel to training in Turkey. If you are applying for a visa or work permit and you have an appointment already scheduled or the embassy still has your passport/ID then let us know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. You can inform us in the Registration for training or by email.
We will then select one of the alternative dates for your Face to Face training.

I'm an experienced Supervisor/Kids Host/Baby Host do I still need to do the E-Learning?

Yes, everyone employed by TUI is required to complete some E-Learning at the start of season. This has been tailored to your experience and will include updates and new information.

Virtual Training

When do the virtual classes start?
    Our program manager will be in contact with you to advise you when the virtual classes will begin. Please make sure you are checking your inbox/spam/junk for any emails.
How can I prepare for the virtual classroom training?

Most of all, bring lots of energy & passion to the Virtual Classroom Training and read all the information on this website carefully. Plan the time for the virtual training as stated in the invitation.

When attending the Fitness & Leisure Instructor training it is best if you start visiting group fitness classes at a nearby gym, and start jogging and exercising to work on your physical endurance on a regular basis, in order to get in shape for your sports training.

What are the technical requirements?
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection and internet capable device.
  • Check your microphone and web cam are working
  • Create a Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom account
How can I access the virtual classroom?
  • Enter the virtual classroom with the Link received from the TUI Hotel Training Team.
  • If necessary enter your FULL NAME as stated in your ID/passport (no nicknames please), attendance will be noted.
  • Most of our virtual classroom training will be held through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. If you have questions on how to register in both apps, please read the next question.
How can I create a Microsoft Teams account?
  1. First open the Microsoft Teams App or go to the Microsoft Teams website in your browser.
  2. Click on “Register for free”.
  3. Now enter the e-mail address you want to use for Teams.
  4. Then you have to confirm it again by tapping on “Create account”.
  5. Now you must enter a password and confirm your entry with “Next”.
  6. Then you have to select your country or region and enter your date of birth.
  7. If this step is also successfully completed, you will receive a verification code sent to your e-mail address, which you must enter.
  8. You will then be shown an arrangement of numbers and letters which you must enter in addition for verification.
  9. Finally, you only need to add your data such as company name and finish the registration process with “Next”.
  10. Now your free Microsoft Teams account is created.
How can I create a Zoom account?
  1. To register for a free account, go to the ZOOM website and sign up.
  2. Enter your e-mail address.
  3. You will receive an e-mail from ZOOM (no-reply@zoom.us). In this e-mail, click on “Activate Account”.
Which time zone is my training session in?

All quoted times for trainings are at CET – Central European Time (Spain, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, etc). You will need to calculate the start time according to the country you are physically in. For example, if you are in the UK and your training starts at 14:00 CET, you will begin at 13:00 UK time.
UK, Ireland and Portugal are WET – Western European Time (CET -1).
Greece, Cyprus, Finland are EET – Eastern European Time (CET+1).
Turkey is CET+2.

How should I behave during training?
  • Put your microphone on mute when the trainer is speaking.
  • Make sure you are in a quiet area.
  • Actively take part in discussions and group activities.
  • Listen carefully during presentations when you have no active part.
  • Put your mobile phone on mute and do not answers calls, texts or IM’s during the session.
What else should I know about the training?
  • Between sessions we have planned time for breaks
  • Be prepared with a notebook and pen
  • Stay hydrated
  • Open the windows and take a breath fresh air

Uniform

How do I order my uniform?

In TUI every colleague orders their uniform online. You will receive your login details (username and password) automatically from the supplier, after you have been offered your placement and accepted it. Should this not be the case, contact your local Operations Support team. You should place your order as soon as possible, but definitely before leaving for destination.

In TUI BLUE For Families Please make sure that it says TUI BLUE on your order form link–if not contact the person who emailed you and ask them to adjust it for you. To order your TUI BLUE For Families childcare uniform the job role you will need to select is the Kids Club Supervisor/Team Leader role to order the correct uniform.

Where will this be delivered to?

The uniform will be delivered to the destination.

What if my uniform doesn’t fit me?

It is important, that you order your “normal” clothing size, so that our uniform will fit. In most cases a belt will fix it. In resort we have some uniforms stored.

Face To Face Training

Do I have to plan my arrival & departure for the Face to Face training myself?

This depends. If you live in the country where the training will take place, you will be asked to organise your journey to the training venue yourself. You will collect all tickets and receipts and when you get to your destination you will claim the costs back. We are able to purchase advance train tickets in the UK and Germany for you.
If you have to fly to the training we will book your flights in and out. In case of traveling from training directly to the summer destination, we will let you know in advance and give you your onward travel information.
The travel from your home town to the airport has to be arranged by you, apart from trains in UK and Germany.
In Turkey the transfer from the airport to the hotel has been organised for you. Please find the TUI counter at the airport and the TUI colleagues there will be happy to assist you.
In UK please follow the guidelines how to get from the airport to the training venue.

When can I register for the Face to Face training?

After completing the relevant e-learning and reading all the important details about your training on the TUI Online Campus, you will then be asked to register for Face to Face Training.
You will be asked to complete a registration self-survey with the deadline of 1 week. Please have your passport on hand to fill out the survey carefully. We will use this information to request your flights to the face to face training and book your accommodation. This will take a few days, then we will send your flight ticket via e-mail.

Am I covered by insurance during the training?

Please ensure you are adequately covered by insurance for the duration and destination of this training – either check with your (national) insurance companies and / or purchase private travel insurance to your personal requirements – such as foreign health insurance or luggage cover. You should also be aware of the procedures you need to follow in case you need emergency assistance or for other claims. 

Which COVID-19 hygiene measures do I have to follow?

A double vaccination status (or equivalent) for entry/travel/general work purposes is now mandatory for a growing list of countries (subject to ongoing change). To be able to travel to training you will have to provide a proof of vaccination or recovery. If you cannot provide this, you won’t be able to attend the training.
Depending on local specifications a medical face mask (surgical mask or a mask of the standards FFP2 / KN95) must be worn in certain areas. To contribute responsibly to the compliance and implementation of the security measures, please bring your own medical masks and respect the information signs and hygiene concept in the training venue.

How to proceed with visa regulations?

There is currently no requirement for a visa to travel to Turkey for nationalities within the EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway.  If you are recruited locally from a different home country you might need a visa eg Egypt. In that case please contact your local HR department 

Egypt passport holders can purchase a 30-day single-entry e-Visas via www.evisa.gov.tr, provided that you have a valid Schengen or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit and you travel to Turkey with Turkish Airlines or Egypt Air.  Please contact hotel.training@tui.com, so we can support you with the necessary invitation documents in order to apply for a visa.  

If you are required to travel to the UK for training from outside the EU eg  Turkey, Tunisia or Egypt, you will need to apply for a Standard Visitor Tourist Visa within 3 months of your travel.  You must apply online before you travel to the UK and attend an appointment at a visa application centre.  The cost is 95 GBP and you will be able to claim the costs back when you get to your summer destination.   You can apply at https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/apply-standard-visitor-visa

Do I need a passport or ID card to travel to training?

The training will take place in Turkey or the UK and both require a passport for entry.

If I can't join training is there any other option?

Basically taking part in training is obligatory. If you cannot attend the training please state the reason for not attending in the registration form and send an email with a certificate from the doctor or school to: hotel.training@tui.com. Some of the job roles need to be licensed, and the qualification is a precondition to working in that role, therefore attendance at training is a requirement. If there is an unforeseeable circumstance and you cannot attend, please contact us so we can find a solution for you.

How can I prepare for the training?

On our Training Website you can find the most current information around your training journey. Please watch the explanatory videos and read the information about job role and hotel brand on the website.
When attending the Fitness & Leisure Instructor training it is best if you start visiting group fitness classes at a nearby gym or sports club on a regular basis in order to get into shape for your sporty adventure. Most of all bring a lot of energy & passion with you and don’t forget your smile 🙂

What do I need to bring for the Face to Face training?

Please keep in mind the dress code guideline while packing your suitcase.
If you require any special medication, please bring it with you.
Please bring along your own face masks, notebook and pens.

Do I have to pay for anything during the Face to Face training?

The course is fully residential, which means that we pay for your accommodation (a shared twin room) and food. Food will be served as a buffet in the restaurants, so all dietary requirements are catered for. You will need to bring some extra money with you for any drinks or snacks and you can either pay with cash (£ in UK and € or TL in Turkey) or via most credit and debit cards. 

Where will I stay for the Face to Face training?

We will arrange for you to stay in hotel accommodation at the same venue as your training. You will share a twin hotel room with another new colleague, and all your meals and soft drinks will be provided.

This is the start your new adventure with us and it is important that you come with an open mind to get to know your new colleagues, experience new cultures and be ready to contribute to, and learn from our training team and each other.
